About Żabia Footbridge

A suspended pedestrian footbridge over the Northern Oder from 1975, linking Nadodrze with Wyspa Bielarska.

Żabia Footbridge, also called Bielarska Footbridge, is a footbridge over the Northern Oder, linking the Nadodrze district with Wyspa Bielarska (Bielarska Island) in Wrocław.

Structure over the water

The footbridge is 56.52 metres long and 3.11 metres wide. It was built in 1975 to mark the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Wrocław, designed by Kazimierz Gałajda and built by the Copper Mine Construction Enterprise in Lubin. In 2002 it underwent a thorough renovation, during which lighting was installed.

Wyspa Bielarska and its surroundings

The footbridge leads to Wyspa Bielarska, one of the islands of the City Centre Water Node, landscaped as an area of urban greenery. On the other side, on the right bank, lies Bulwar Słoneczny. From here it is a short walk to the oldest part of the city, including the Tumski Bridge and the Archcathedral of St John the Baptist on Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island).

Practical information
