The highest summit of the Góry Żelazne (Iron Mountains) in the Śnieżnik Massif, covered by beech and spruce forest, with a history of iron ore mining.
Żeleźniak is a summit 591 metres above sea level in the foothills of the Góry Żelazne (Iron Mountains), in the north-western part of the Śnieżnik Massif. It is the highest hill of this range.
The summit is built of metamorphic rocks, mainly mica schist, with smaller sections of crystalline limestone and amphibolite. The ridge and southern slopes are covered by beech, mixed and spruce forests of the lower montane zone, while the north-eastern slopes are occupied by farmland.
Iron ore was once mined in the area, and it was smelted below Żeleźniak and in nearby Stary Waliszów.
Nearby it is worth seeing the Gorzanów Castle and the Radochów Cave.
