“The King Who Forgot… A Fairy Tale for Adults” is a production by Teatr Nowy w Zabrzu, staged in the Large Hall of Centrum Kultury MUZA in Lubin on 23 November 2026 at 19:00. It begins with the king losing his memory, and with it his certainty about who rules the kingdom. What follows is a witty journey through a world where everything is turned upside down and important questions hide beneath the cloak of a fairy tale.
The production was created by Paweł Wolak and Katarzyna Dworak (PiK), actors and artists associated with the H. Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica. The story about memory, responsibility and a world resembling our own kingdom is filled with music, colourful characters and unexpected twists. The creators want to address serious matters lightly and humorously, without moralizing. The production is intended for adult audiences.
Maria Stępień received an acting award for her role in this production at the 23rd Contemporary Drama Festival “Rzeczywistość przedstawiona” 2025. The premiere took place on 11 October 2025.
Practical information: the performance lasts 105 minutes and is staged without an intermission. Seats in row XVIII in the Large Hall are less comfortable: the distance to the row in front is small, and the seat backs are shorter.
