A play directed by Katarzyna Kalwat about the intimate relationship between a writer and a man thirty years her junior. The audience attends an evening devoted to the heroine, Annie Ernaux, the author of the novel on which the production is based. The cast includes Ewelina Paszke-Lowitzsch and Dominik Smaruj. The performance will be shown on 27.11.2026 at 7:15 p.m. on the Main Stage of the Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny im. Marii i Edmunda Wiercińskich.
The writer gradually reveals the details of the relationship and illustrates her story with a series of intimate slides. Recalling hidden moments of passion brings back memories of her youth, including the most difficult ones, related to her experience of an illegal abortion. These lead the heroine to reflect on her own history and on how she became a self-aware woman and writer.
