Folk Solution Concert – Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Śląsk im. Stanisława Hadyny

The Song and Dance Ensemble “Śląsk” im. Stanisława Hadyny presents “Folk Solution” on 25 October 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sala Widowiskowa of Miejski Ośrodek Kultury i Sztuki in Oleśnica. The creators explore whether folklore is still relevant today and what place it holds in contemporary culture. They ask whether folk tradition still inspires artists and whether knowledge of it is needed to create new forms for the stage. The show combines Polish folklore with electronic music and contemporary dance, contrasting two worlds: tradition and modernity. It consists of two parts: - “Tradition and Modernity,” - “Folk Solution.” Both parts show the contrast between the emotional richness of folk culture and the dynamic, industrial reality of the modern world. The whole takes the form of an artistic “duel of opposites” that invites reflection on the role of cultural heritage today. The production premiered in 2021 at the Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice festival.
