“Lachtara. Tęsknota” is a film about a Greek father and his adult son, a Pole of Greek descent. After years apart, the two meet in Athens. The starring roles are played by Filip Pławiak, Branko Đurić and Sarina Farhadi. The film is directed by Sebastian Chondrokostas, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mirosław Borek.
After the death of his former wife and their mother, the characters must travel together to Wałbrzych to take care of the family apartment. The journey across Europe gives them a chance to confront the past and try to rebuild their lost bond.
The story draws on the fates of Greek refugees who fled the civil war in 1949 and arrived in Poland. Many of them settled in Lower Silesia, where a Greek community still lives today. The film explores identity, memory and ties to one's place of origin, and shows how the history of successive generations shapes family relationships.
Practical information: the screening will take place on 6 November 2026 at 20:15 at Kino Piast in Legnica. If the event is cancelled, refunds are issued automatically.
