The Full Monty

The comedy “The Full Monty” by Stephen Sinclair and Anthony McCarten has been running since its world premiere at the Mercury Theatre in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1987. The production was staged by Teatr Gudejko, which is also behind “Berek, czyli upiór w moherze”, “Nerwica natręctw” and “Między łóżkami”. On stage you will see Katarzyna Ptasińska, Sebastian Cybulski, Michał Lesień-Głowacki and Piotr Zelt, among others. Artistic direction by Tomasz Sapryk.

The heroes are unemployed residents of Tomaszów Mazowiecki who decide to form a male striptease group. Under the name “Napalone Nosorożce” (“Horny Rhinos”), they want to build a big career and break their string of failures. The audience follows their progress: first clumsy dance lessons, attempts to land a gig at Eden, the only club in town, and finally a premiere show after many hours of rehearsal.
