Optimists, or Our Lot on Holiday in Egypt

*Optimists*, or Our Lot on Holiday in Egypt, is a comedy about a family that goes on holiday together to Egypt for the first time. Written and directed by Krzysztof Czeczot, director of the POZYTYWNI production. Since the stay is all-inclusive, the characters want to drink, eat, dance and swim everything up, because once it's paid for, nothing can go to waste. Cast: Hanna Śleszyńska / Violetta Arlak Karolina Gorczyca Piotr Cyrwus / Jacek Lenartowicz Marcin Korcz / Krzysztof Czeczot The action takes place at one of the Egyptian resorts. Ewa (Karolina Gorczyca) has invited her parents, Kasia and Janek (Hanna Śleszyńska and Piotr Cyrwus), on an exclusive holiday to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. The stay, however, is not what she expected: Mum complains, Dad wears jeans despite the heat, Ewa's husband Adaś (Marcin Korcz) takes advantage of the free drinks, and Ewa herself tries to survive until the end of the trip. In the background, a chart is kept tracking what has been eaten, drunk, swum, danced and run off. Krzysztof Czeczot says: “Over the past year I travelled to various resorts to see what happens on all-inclusive holidays. I dialled up the stories I witnessed, so that this evening would be wonderful entertainment for our audience. I am convinced everyone will have a great time watching a comedy like none they've seen in the theatre before!” In sultry Egypt, the emotions run high.
