In Michał Kmiecik's production of “Metamorphosis,” an adaptation of the story about Gregor Samsa, who one day wakes up transformed into a bug and cannot go to work. His sense of professional duty clashes with his joy in a lazy morning. The director moves Kafka's protagonist into a grotesquely portrayed world of the modern corporation. The performance can be seen on 20 November 2026 at 7:15 PM on the Main Stage of Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny im. Marii i Edmunda Wiercińskich.
Samsa supports his whole family, whose lives are filled with empty conversations and hollow daily rituals. His transformation upends the household's routine and forces change on each character. Comic scenes turn tragic, and horror emerges from beneath the farce.
