“The Time That Never Came”

“The Time That Never Came” is a film screened at Kino Odra (Sala Widowiskowa) in Brzeg Dolny. The story is set in a world where ageing has become the greatest taboo. The protagonists are Sara and Oskar, who had planned to grow old together.

Like most people, Oskar has undergone a revolutionary anti-ageing treatment. It guarantees youth and a place in the new society. Sara refused and as a result was sent to a closed isolation centre. Years later, her escape attempt brings the two together again. Their appearance divides them, but what unites them is the lack of answers to questions they had pushed to the background for years.

The film raises questions: can love survive time and irreversible decisions, and can one be free and live truly in a world that denies the right to pass away?
