Wild Horse Nine

Wild Horse Nine is a political thriller with dark humor directed by Martin McDonagh. John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell star as CIA agents.

The story unfolds shortly before the 1973 coup in Chile. CIA agents Chris and Lee are sent from Santiago to Easter Island by their boss, MJ. In the shadow of the island's famous statues, the longtime partners must confront a dark past and conspiracies that begin to come to light. Chris's new bond with two rebellious students, however, may send everyone's stay in this remote paradise spiraling out of control.

The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. The audience rewarded it with a 13-minute standing ovation, and 72-year-old John Malkovich, who plays the lead role, wiped away tears of emotion. Critics have described his performance as “the role of a lifetime” and predict he will win an Oscar.
