A former palace in Bystrzyca Górna, today home to a primary school and a socio-therapy centre, with disputed dating of the oldest walls.
Bystrzyca Górna Palace, in a village in the Świdnica municipality, in Świdnica County, today houses a complex of educational institutions - Primary School No. 3 and the Youth Socio-Therapy Centre. This is a different building from the palace in Bystrzyca Dolna, described separately in the database.
The sources do not agree on the age of the oldest walls. One description points to the 16th century, with a fire in 1799 and rebuilding at the end of the 19th century. Another source mentions surviving cellars from the 17th century and a form given to the building in the mid-19th century. After numerous rebuildings and renovations, the building can no longer be assigned to a single architectural style.
After the Second World War the estate was nationalised. The building served in turn as a state farm, a holiday home in the 1970s, and later a sanatorium run by a healthcare centre, before passing to today's educational institutions.
The building is part of a palace complex together with a park, in which the old layout with mature trees has survived, and which originally also had a fountain. The park borders the village's church complex to the west. The palace is entered in the heritage register under number 1398/WŁ, the park under number 1446/WŁ.
