A concrete air raid bunker from 1941 on Ołbińska Street in Wrocław, today a museum storage facility.
The Air Raid Shelter on Ołbińska Street in Wrocław is a concrete bunker from the Second World War, today used as a museum storage facility.
The structure has a cylindrical form, about 32 metres in diameter and over 20 metres high. The roof is 2 metres thick and the walls 1.10 metres thick - dimensions meant to protect against bombing. The bunker was built of concrete and, according to the heritage register, dates from 1941.
The shelter is listed on the register of immovable heritage monuments of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship under entry number 91/A/02 of 19 July 2002, with its function stated explicitly as a shelter.
The object's name in the register - air raid shelter, now a museum storage facility - indicates that the interior of the bunker currently serves as a storage space for museum collections. The available sources do not specify which institution uses it or whether the site is open to visitors at all, so entry should not be assumed without first checking with the management.
