About Bartoszowicki Bridge

A three-span steel bridge from 1913-1917 over the Flood Canal, the narrowest bridge in Wrocław, illuminated at night.

Bartoszowicki Bridge is a three-span steel bridge over the weir of the Flood Canal, linking the Bartoszowice and Strachocin estates in Wrocław.

Construction

The bridge was built between 1913 and 1917, as part of the construction of the Flood Canal and Navigation Canal infrastructure. The three-span steel structure rests on concrete-and-brick abutments. The bridge is 110.2 metres long, 3.8 metres high and 5.5 metres wide, making it the narrowest bridge in Wrocław.

Flood and renovation

After the flood of the millennium in 1997 the bridge was renovated. It is illuminated at night, which further highlights its steel structure above the water.

Nearby

A few kilometres away lie Szczytnicki Park with the Centennial Hall and the Japanese Garden. Towards the centre, over the Oder, stands the Grunwaldzki Bridge.
