About BB Gallery

The Wrocław branch of a Kraków applied art gallery on Jatki street, operating since 2004.

BB Gallery at Jatki 3-6 street is the Wrocław branch of a Kraków applied art gallery, operating in this location since 8 December 2004. It is not a shop but an exhibition space - purchases are handled by the gallery's separate website, while the rooms host a succession of exhibitions.

Applied art instead of painting

BB Gallery was founded in 1997 on the initiative of journalist Anita Bialic and artist Grażyna Brylewska, initially in Kraków at Garbarska 24 street. The owners chose to focus on applied art, glass, paper, clay, wicker, metal and textiles, somewhat against the fashion for graphic art and painting in Kraków's artistic circles. The gallery works permanently with 72 Polish artists, most of them graduates of the Wrocław State Higher School of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts.

Exhibitions and cooperation

The gallery has organised 59 exhibitions in total and has worked with, among others, the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, the ZPAP Gallery, the AB Gallery and the Olimpia Gallery in Kraków, as well as the International Textile Triennial in Łódź and the Consumenart gallery in Nuremberg. The exhibition "Paper Sphere", with the participation of foreign artists, was held under the patronage of UNESCO.
