A municipal museum in Bielawa with reconstructions of period interiors and a collection on the town's history and local textile industry.
The Bielawa Museum Branch is a small municipal museum in Bielawa, operating as part of the local Municipal Public Library. The collection is dedicated to the town's history from the 19th century onwards, and the exhibits include reconstructions of period interiors.
The museum was established in 2009. It was initially housed in the building of the former Bielbaw textile works at Piastowska 19. At the end of 2011, in connection with the creation of the Lower Silesian Art-Entrepreneurship Incubator, the seat was moved to the building at Piastowska 19b.
The exhibition focuses on the history of Bielawa from the 19th century onwards. A period living room and a school classroom have been reconstructed here, and visitors can also see the fittings of a former pharmacy and memorabilia related to Bielawa's textile industry and local tourist and sports organisations.
Most of the collection came to the facility as donations from the town's residents, which gives the exhibition a local, personal character linked to the history of Bielawa's family homes and workplaces.
