Brodzki Bridge

Wrocław
About Brodzki Bridge

A road bridge from 1967 over the Bystrzyca river on Janowska Street, connecting Pracze Odrzańskie with Janówek.

Brodzki Bridge carries Janowska Street over the Bystrzyca river, connecting the Pracze Odrzańskie district with Janówek. It is the last crossing on the Bystrzyca before it flows into the Oder, and the road on the bridge serves, among other things, access to the Wrocław Sewage Treatment Plant.

A 1967 structure

The current bridge was built in 1967 as a three-span structure made of prefabricated prestressed concrete of the WBS type. The girders are freely supported and covered with a reinforced-concrete slab, and the surface is bitumen. The bridge is 56.4 metres long and 11.5 metres wide, of which 9 metres is the carriageway and the rest two pavements of 1.25 metres each. The permitted vehicle weight is 15 tonnes.

Water gauge and surroundings

A water gauge measuring the level of the Bystrzyca stands by the bridge. The surrounding area is mainly the buildings of Pracze Odrzańskie and the technical grounds of the treatment plant, and the nearest greenery can be found a few kilometres away, towards Stabłowicki Park.

Anyone looking for another Wrocław crossing with a different structure can go to Rędziński Bridge over the Oder.
