A former Protestant church from 1884 in Sokołowsko, today a Roman Catholic parish, with a surviving Neo-Gothic organ case and stained-glass window.
The Church of Our Lady Queen of the World stands in Sokołowsko, a small spa town in Wałbrzych County. Today it is a Roman Catholic parish church belonging to the Głuszyca deanery of the Diocese of Świdnica, although the building was built for a different denomination.
The church was built in 1884 as a Protestant church, from donations by patients then being treated in Sokołowsko. The land for construction was donated by Dr Theodor Römpler (1845-1902), and the building itself was erected above the villa of Major Baron von Rössing. Contrary to circulating claims, it did not replace any earlier church on this site - it is the first church at this location.
The structure is built of brick and single-nave, without features that would formally qualify it as a historic monument. Two elements of the furnishings do stand out, however: a wooden, Neo-Gothic organ case from the 19th century, and a stained-glass window in the chancel dating from the end of the same century.
