The highest peak of the Suche Mountains and the whole Kamienne Mountains in the Central Sudetes, with hiking and cycling trails to the summit.
Waligóra is the highest peak of the Suche Mountains, and indeed of the whole Kamienne Mountains, at 933.88 or 936 metres above sea level (sources give both figures). It lies in the Central Sudetes, in the Grzmiąca area, and is one of the higher elevations in this part of the Sudetes.
The massif is built of Permian quartz porphyries, belonging to the northern flank of the intramontane basin. Waligóra has an elongated ridge running north to south: it slopes gently on the southern side, while the northern and eastern slopes are considerably steeper.
The slopes are covered with mixed beech-spruce forest, though thinned in many places by ecological damage. The steep northern slope, visible from the direction of the Andrzejówka mountain hut, drops sharply towards the Przełęcz Trzech Dolin (Three Valleys Pass), which makes the mountain dominate the landscape there.
Two trails lead to Waligóra: a yellow hiking trail running from Przełęcz Trzech Dolin to Sokołowsko past the ruins of Radosno Castle, and a blue cycling trail from Głuszyca. After the Second World War a wooden observation tower stood on the summit, which eventually fell into disrepair and was dismantled, so there is no longer a viewing structure on Waligóra today.
Waligóra features on three "crown" lists: the Crown of the Mountains of Poland, the Crown of the Sudetes and the Crown of the Mountains of Lower Silesia, which makes it one of the destinations visited by people collecting these sets of peaks.
