A baroque university church on Plac Uniwersytecki in Wrocław, built by the Jesuits between 1689 and 1698.
The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Wrocław stands on Plac Uniwersytecki, in the very centre of the Old Town. It is a baroque church built by the Jesuits between 1689 and 1698, today serving as the university church.
The church was built between 1689 and 1698 on the initiative of the Jesuit order, originally serving as the monastery church of their college. The building is made of brick, in the baroque style.
The church is entered in the register of immovable heritage monuments. Entries in the register date from 1947, 1962 and 2004, confirming continuous conservation protection of the building for several decades.
The building now serves as the university church, linked to the neighbouring University of Wrocław on Plac Uniwersytecki.
