Kudowa-Zdrój
About Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kudowa-Zdrój

A baroque filial church from 1908-1909 in the Słone district of Kudowa-Zdrój, with a surviving pre-war Czech-German cemetery.

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kudowa-Zdrój stands in the Słone district and serves as a filial church of the parish of St Bartholomew.

A baroque structure with a semicircular chancel

This is a single-nave baroque church with a distinctive, semicircularly closed chancel. The church owes its present shape to a rebuilding in 1908, carried out to a design by the architect Joseph Elsner. It was consecrated on 9 September 1909.

A cemetery from before two wars

A cemetery with Czech and German gravestones dating from before the Second World War has survived beside the church. It is a trace of the multicultural history of Słone and the Kudowa borderland.
