Czerwony Kościół
About Czerwony Kościół Palace

A Classicist palace from 1794 designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans in the village of Czerwony Kościół in Krotoszyce municipality, part of a complex with a park and farm buildings.

Czerwony Kościół Palace stands in the village of the same name, in the municipality of Krotoszyce, in Legnica County. The brick building on a rectangular plan was erected in 1794 to a design by Carl Gotthard Langhans, one of the leading Classicist architects working in Silesia at the time.

Langhans's Classicist design

The author of the palace was Carl Gotthard Langhans. Towards the end of the 19th century the building underwent alterations that changed part of its original appearance.

The palace complex and park

The palace forms part of a larger complex. It is surrounded by a 19th-century park, and the complex also includes an officials' house from the mid-19th century (renovated at the end of the 20th century), a residential building from the end of the 18th century (renovated at the end of the 19th century) and a farm building from the end of the 19th century. The whole complex is listed on the heritage register of the National Heritage Institute.
