The ruin of a hunting lodge from the 1930s in the forest on the trail between Czocha Castle and the castle in Świecie.
Ernst Gütschow's Hunting Lodge is a ruin in the forest between Świecie and Stankowice, in Lubań County, on the blue-marked PTTK trail running between Czocha Castle and the castle in Świecie.
The lodge was built in the 1930s for Ernst Gütschow, the last owner of Czocha Castle. It had its own gas installation and running water, which was an unusual solution for a forest hunting lodge. The wooden above-ground part was demolished in circumstances that remain unclear, sometime after the war.
Of the whole structure, only the basement and the chimney shaft with the hearth have survived. The rest of the construction, made of wood, did not survive. The site is cared for by the Świeradów Zdrój Forest District and the "Czocha Castle" Association, which have set up a stop on the tourist route here: an information board, a picnic spot and a feeding rack for animals.
The trail linking the ruin with Czocha Castle continues to Świecie Castle. Nearby it is also worth visiting the Devil's Mill in Świeradów-Zdrój and the Izera Stud Farm.
