A Protestant church from 1884 on Maria Konopnicka Street in Bierutów, built for the growing Evangelical congregation.
The Evangelical-Lutheran church in Bierutów was, before the Second World War, one of five places of worship active in the town, then bearing the German name Bernstadt: four churches and one synagogue. It was built for the growing Protestant congregation.
The Evangelical-Lutheran congregation in Bierutów was formed in 1841. In 1847 it was considered large enough that a decision was made to build a new church for it. The construction was located on what is now Maria Konopnicka Street, which in the 1930s bore the name Junkernstrasse.
The foundation stone for the new church was laid on 26 February 1884, and the construction work was led by master bricklayer Fridrich Milde. Work progressed quickly: just four months later, on Trinity Sunday, 27 June 1884, the solemn consecration of the church took place.
