Golina

Piotrowice
About Golina

A low peak of Krowiarki (Śnieżnik Massif), 544 metres above sea level, between Piotrowice Dolne and Piotrowice Górne.

Golina is a low peak in Krowiarki, part of the Śnieżnik Massif in the Eastern Sudetes, between Piotrowice Dolne and Piotrowice Górne in Kłodzko County.

Height and composition

The summit is 544 metres above sea level and is built of metamorphic rocks of the Lądek-Śnieżnik metamorphic complex: mica schists, in places with garnet-bearing varieties, and crystalline limestones.

Landscape

The whole hill is covered by fields and meadows, with small woodlots growing only on the summit and slopes. This is a landscape typical of the gentle hills of Krowiarki, without dense forest on the top.

Trail nearby

South of the summit runs the black trail, leading from Bystrzyca Kłodzka to Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie. The summit of Golina itself, however, lies off its route.

Surroundings

In the same part of Krowiarki rises Żeleźniak, the nearest neighbouring peak.

A little further to the south-west lies Wapniarka, another hill of this range.

Practical information

  • Access: local roads from Bystrzyca Kłodzka towards Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie, then on foot (no marked trail leads to the summit itself)
  • What to expect: a hill of meadows and fields without tourist infrastructure and without a marked path to the top
