A full-size, thirty-lane biathlon shooting range at the Lower Silesian Sports Centre on the Jakuszyce Meadow, a training facility for athletes.
The Jakuszyce Biathlon Shooting Range is part of the Lower Silesian Sports Centre on the Jakuszyce Meadow in the Izera Mountains, one of the largest and most modern cross-country skiing and biathlon centres in Europe.
The shooting range has thirty lanes fifty metres long, built in accordance with the rules of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). Its fixed equipment includes electronic targets and control from a coaches' ramp, while its movable equipment includes shooting mats, roping and lane markers. In summer the facility is adjoined by asphalt roller-ski tracks about two kilometres long, four to eleven and a half metres wide.
The shooting range operates as part of the Lower Silesian Sports Centre, which also includes a sports hall, a hypoxic chamber, an equipment rental point, a wellness zone, a restaurant and an Interactive Sports Centre with winter-sports simulators. The facility meets the strict requirements of the world's sporting federations and serves primarily athletes and national teams training on site; it is not a place where a casual tourist can shoot a rifle for fun. What is open to everyone, however, are the running and cycling trails around the centre and the ski-equipment rental points operating in Jakuszyce.
