Karkonosze Library, Centre for Regional Information and Education, Branch No 4

Branch No 4 of the Karkonosze Library has operated since 1976 in Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój, a district of Jelenia Góra, at plac Piastowski 32.

A spa library

Because of the spa character of Cieplice, one third of the branch's readers are patients from the nearby sanatorium, which is the main thing setting this institution apart from the other branches of the Karkonosze Library, including Branch No 3 in Zabobrze, where readers are mostly locals.

Reportage and a German-language collection

The branch specialises in reportage and runs a reading room with current press, and its collections also include books in German. It offers free internet access and educational programmes for schools and preschools.

A spa neighbourhood

The branch lies close to Cieplice's attractions, near the Norwegian Park in Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój with the Norwegian Pavilion and the Cieplice Thermal Baths.
