About Kłobuk

A wooded summit 814 m above sea level in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, with the European watershed on its top and no marked trail to the summit itself.

Kłobuk is a summit 814 m above sea level in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, lying about 2.7 km north-east of the village of Lasówka, in Kłodzko County.

Geology and vegetation

The elevation is built of metamorphic rocks covered by glacial deposits from the Pleistocene epoch. The whole summit is covered by an artificial, single-species spruce forest. The dome is elongated and flat, without a clear culmination point, so from the ground it is hard to say exactly where the highest point lies.

Watershed on the summit

The European watershed runs across the top of Kłobuk. Water flowing down the eastern slopes reaches the Bystrzyca and then the Baltic Sea, while water from the western slopes flows into the Dzika Orlica, which carries it towards the North Sea.

Approach to the summit

No marked tourist trail leads to the summit. The Szlak Błądzących Wędrowców (Trail of the Wandering Travellers) reaches it, and a blue cross-country skiing trail runs along the southern foot. Nearby, on the Czech side of the border, rises Šerlich, and a few kilometres further lies the Torfowisko pod Zieleńcem Nature Reserve.

Practical information

  • Approach: on foot along the Szlak Błądzących Wędrowców, most conveniently from Lasówka or Zieleniec
