Kopiniec is a border mountain 706 metres above sea level in the Central Sudetes, in the Kamienne Mountains, lying on the Polish-Czech state border south of Głuszyca.
The hill is located in the central part of the Suche Mountains range, between Bukowa Góra and the Przełęcz pod Czarnochem pass. The state border with the Czech Republic runs directly across the summit.
Kopiniec is built of Permian extrusive rocks - quartz porphyry and porphyry tuffs - belonging to the northern flank of the Intra-Sudetic Basin. The hill is entirely covered by spruce forest of the lower montane zone.
The Czech, south-western part of the mountain lies within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area.
In the vicinity of Kopiniec, on the Polish side of the border, are, among others, the Riese underground complex at Włodarz and the summits of Waligóra and Osówka.
