The Legnica Art Gallery is a municipal cultural institution on Plac Katedralny, running exhibitions and educational activities in the city centre, right by the cathedral.
The venue organises exhibitions of painting, artistic jewellery and photography, as well as events devoted to art connected with the region. It runs the Ogólnopolski Przegląd Malarstwa Młodych "Promocje" (National Review of Young Painters "Promotions") and a goldsmithing competition linked to Legnica's goldsmithing tradition and its silver festival.
Besides exhibitions, the gallery runs art workshops as part of an open studio, available to visitors.
Viewing the exhibitions is free.
The gallery is next to the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, one of Legnica's most important churches.
A few minutes' walk from here is also the Piast Castle.
Nearby is also the Legnica Municipal Park, good for a walk after visiting.
