About Lubawka Calvary on Święta Góra

A complex of six chapels and a Way of the Cross from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries on Święta Góra in Lubawka, today falling into ruin.

Lubawka Calvary on Święta Góra is a complex of six chapels and a Way of the Cross on Święta Góra in Lubawka, in the Kruczy Mountains in the Central Sudetes.

Six chapels from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries

The chapels were built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, although the tradition of pilgrimage to Święta Góra dates back to the 18th century. The Stations of the Cross were installed between 1845 and 1846. The complex includes: the Chapel of St Anne (mid-19th century), the Chapel of the Last Supper (1892), the Chapel of the Crowning of Christ (mid-19th century), the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows (1866), the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre (mid-19th century) and the Chapel of the Resurrection (1902).

Present condition

The entire complex is falling into ruin. The chapels have no windows or doors, and only fragments of wall paintings and damaged figures have survived. The last renovation was carried out between 1959 and 1968.
