Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve

Lubawka
About Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve

A rock nature reserve protecting inanimate nature in the Kamienne Mountains, in the municipality of Lubawka, established in 1954.

Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve is a rock nature reserve protecting inanimate nature in the Kamienne Mountains, in the Central Sudetes, in the municipality of Lubawka.

Nature of the reserve

The area protects rock formations, not vegetation or animals - it is a reserve of inanimate nature, established in 1954. Reserves of this type are created to preserve, unchanged, rock formations created by weathering and erosion, without economic interference.

The Kamienne Mountains

Kruczy Kamień lies in the Kamienne Mountains, part of the Central Sudetes. This is a range with gentler terrain than the neighbouring Karkonosze (Giant Mountains), known for numerous rock formations and viewpoints scattered across the surrounding peaks.

Practical information

  • The reserve lies in the municipality of Lubawka, in Kamienna Góra County.
  • Nearby are other peaks and rock formations of the Kamienne Mountains: Krucza Skała, Diabelska Maczuga - Czarcia Skała and Anielska Góra.
  • Nearby it is also worth seeing the Cistercian Abbey in Krzeszów.
  • It's worth checking the exact access route and current entry rules before setting out, since this is a protected area.
  • It's best to plan the visit as part of a longer walking route around the surrounding hills, since the reserve itself is a small rocky area.
