Lwówek Śląski City Park

Lwówek Śląski
About Lwówek Śląski City Park

The largest town park in Lwówek Śląski, laid out in the 19th century and revitalised in 2019, with a former Jewish cemetery on its grounds.

Lwówek Śląski City Park, also known as Jordan Park, lies in the western part of the town, between Partyzantów, Oświęcimska, General Władysław Sikorski streets and Wojska Polskiego avenue. It covers 2.90 hectares and is the largest of the town parks in Lwówek Śląski.

History and character of the park

The park was laid out in the 19th century, and since then it has been repeatedly enlarged and reshaped. It has been kept in the style of an English garden, that is a free, naturalistic arrangement of greenery without geometric avenues of trees.

Revitalisation and ponds

In 2019 the park's revitalisation was completed, in the course of which the town ponds within its grounds were restored to their function as a small retention reservoir.

The Jewish cemetery within the park

Within the park lies the former Jewish cemetery in Lwówek Śląski, which has its own separate description on the portal.

Nearby

Close to the park are also the market square in Lwówek Śląski with its town hall and the Museum of Lower Silesian Brewing.
