A private museum in Świerki in the Owl Mountains with a collection of pre-war and post-war objects, dedicated to the memory of collector Mieczysław Bojko.
The Museum by the Tunnel (Muzeum Przy Tunelu) in Świerki is a private collection of pre-war and post-war memorabilia, gathered in a village lying beneath the railway tunnels at Świerkowa Kopa. The name of the museum refers precisely to the neighbouring tunnels, through which the railway line runs in the Owl Mountains.
The museum is dedicated to the memory of Mieczysław Bojko, a collector and historian. It was he who spent years gathering the objects that today make up the museum's collection.
The collection includes everyday objects from the pre-war and post-war periods: tools, appliances, furniture, dishware, as well as albums, old books and paintings. The array of equipment and documents shows how the furnishing of homes changed over the decades, from the first telephones to television sets.
