A museum of historic military and civilian vehicles and stationary engines in Głuszyca, Lower Silesia.
The Museum of Automotive Engineering and Technology in Głuszyca collects historic vehicles and technical machines, with a particular focus on military vehicles and motoring.
The collection includes military vehicles, among them Chevrolet, Dodge WC and DAF models, as well as vehicles from the Second World War period. Alongside them, the museum also houses civilian vehicles: Żuks, Syrenas, Tarpans, several generations of Volkswagen, and a tractor. A separate part of the exhibition consists of historic stationary engines.
The origins of the collection go back to the late 1980s, when a wartime Willys vehicle was found by chance. The first item was not bought for the collection until 1995. For many years the museum's founders searched for a suitable building for its premises, until in 2022 they found a historic building in Głuszyca in Lower Silesia, where the museum is now located.
Głuszyca lies in the Sowie Mountains area, near other attractions linked to the region's history. Nearby is the Riese Włodarz underground complex, as well as the Włodarz and Osówka peaks with underground galleries. A little further rises Wielka Sowa, the highest peak of the Sowie Mountains, and in Zagórze Śląskie stands Grodno Castle.
