The ruin of a former palace in Olszany near Strzegom, rebuilt in the 17th century from a Renaissance manor house, destroyed in 1945 and demolished in the 1970s.
Olszany Palace stands in the village of Olszany, in the Strzegom municipality, in Świdnica County. Today it is a ruin, but its history goes back to a Renaissance manor house five hundred years old.
Originally there stood here a Renaissance manor house with a moat and a stone bridge, built in the 16th century. In the 17th century Baron Hans F. von Nimptsch rebuilt it into a palace. The next owner of the estate was the Hohenzollern family.
The palace was devastated in 1945, and in the 1970s most of the building was demolished. To this day only part of the front wall with a projecting bay has survived, containing the semi-circular main portal between two Corinthian columns. This is the only fragment by which the former residence can be recognised.
