A forest nature reserve covering 74.28 ha in the Żmigród municipality, protecting boggy alder woods along the Ługa river.
The Olszyny Niezgodzkie Nature Reserve is a forest reserve covering 74.28 hectares, located in the Żmigród municipality, south of the village of Niezgoda. It was established in 1987 to preserve boggy alder woods growing within reach of the Ługa river.
The reserve is dominated by a currant alder carr community with a characteristic hummock-and-hollow structure: trees grow on raised hummocks, with water remaining between them. This is a habitat typical of waterlogged alder forests along the rivers of the Barycz Valley.
To the west, the boundary of the reserve is marked by a paved forest road running from Niezgoda to Ruda Żmigrodzka; to the east, by the regulated and embanked Old Barycz river, also called the Ługa. The reserve lies within the Barycz Valley Landscape Park and within the Natura 2000 areas "Ostoja nad Baryczą" and "Dolina Baryczy". Nearby, in the same valley, other nature reserves can also be visited, for example the Milickie Ponds Nature Reserve and the Radziądz Nature Reserve.
For families with children, the NATURUM Educational and Tourist Centre in Ruda Sułowska - Open-Air Museum operates in this part of the Barycz Valley, and lovers of pond views can visit the Viewpoint over Krzysztof Pond.
