The NATURUM Educational and Tourist Centre in Ruda Sułowska is an educational and tourist complex combining an open-air museum of fishing traditions with an animal enclosure, located in the Barycz Valley.
The centre houses the Museum of Fishing Traditions, dedicated to the history and culture of pond fishery. The complex also includes the Fisherman's House and a visual exhibition on pond fishery, and the facilities include, among other things, a fish-washing unit connected with fish farming.
An animal enclosure (mini zoo) is part of the centre, open to visitors as part of a tour of the complex.
The centre offers a sensory trail, an educational playground and a demonstration pond. On site you can also use the fishing pond, kayak and bicycle rental, and marked tourist and nature trails, as well as take part in photo safaris around the nearby bird reserve.
The complex also includes the three-star Hotel Naturum and the "Pod Ośmioma Rybami" ("Under the Eight Fish") Inn. The centre lies in the heart of the Barycz Valley Landscape Park, which includes one of the largest complexes of fish ponds in Europe, with a centuries-old tradition, and one of the largest bird reserves in Poland.
Right next door is the Museum of Fishing Traditions of the Milicz Ponds and the Barycz Valley.
Within a few kilometres is the Olszyny Niezgodzkie Nature Reserve.
Also nearby is the observation platform in Ruda Sułowska.
