About Ostra Góra

The third-highest peak of the Bardzkie Mountains (751.7 m above sea level), covered with spruce-beech forest.

Ostra Góra is the third-highest peak of the Bardzkie Mountains, rising as a distinct summit in the main ridge of the south-eastern part of this range. It is 751.7 metres high. After 1945 it briefly bore the name Ostry Szczyt; earlier the German name Königshainer Spitzberg was used.

Geological structure

The peak is built of Lower Carboniferous greywackes and clay shales, in places passing into mudstones, belonging to the Bardo structure.

Vegetation

Ostra Góra is entirely covered with spruce and spruce-beech forest, with the beeches growing near the summit itself taking on stunted forms.
