An active municipal cemetery in the Pawłowice district of Wrocław, with a chapel and an archaeological site from the 1st-4th centuries.
The Municipal Cemetery in Wrocław-Pawłowice covers 2.2 hectares on Złocieniowa Street 29, in the Pawłowice housing estate.
The grounds are divided into three sections. In the eastern, oldest section stands the cemetery chapel. The central section is currently active, meaning ongoing burials take place there. The western section consists of new grounds, set aside for the further expansion of the cemetery.
Within the new, western section of the cemetery lies a heritage archaeological site dated to the 1st-4th centuries AD. This is a much older historical layer than the cemetery itself, evidence of settlement here long before the necropolis was established.
The site can be reached by MPK Wrocław bus lines 151 or 936 to the Malwowa stop, about 800 metres from the cemetery. An alternative is the Lower Silesian Railways trains running to Trzebnica, alighting at the Wrocław Pawłowice station, about 300 metres from the gate.
