About Psie Pole Cemetery

The Psie Pole Municipal Cemetery in Wrocław, established in 1996, with the only crematorium in Wrocław.

Psie Pole Cemetery, officially the Psie Pole Municipal Cemetery, is a necropolis in Wrocław established in 1996 in the Psie Pole district.

Origin of the name

Because of how the official name sounds, the cemetery is sometimes called Kiełczowski Cemetery or the Cemetery on Kiełczowska Street.

Why it was built

The decision to build a new municipal cemetery was made when space for burials was starting to run out at Wrocław's two largest necropolises, Osobowice Cemetery and Grabiszyn Cemetery.

Character of the cemetery

The cemetery meets the requirements set for modern necropolises: it is suited to both traditional earth burials and urn burials, in the ground and in columbaria. The complex includes administration buildings, a funeral home and a crematorium, the only one in Wrocław. Eventually the cemetery is to cover 50 hectares, and its current area is 20 hectares.
