Radlica

Łomnica
About Radlica

A small, wooded peak in the Rudawy Janowickie near Łomnica, built of granite, without a marked trail to the summit.

Radlica is a small, dome-shaped hill in the Rudawy Janowickie, in the Karpnik Hills range, rising to about 403 metres above sea level east of the centre of Łomnica, between this village and Wojanów.

Shape and geology

The hill is built of Variscan Karkonosze granites. It forms an isolated, dome-shaped massif with steeply falling slopes and a clearly marked summit. On the eastern and northern slopes there are groups of impressive granite rock outcrops.

Forest and surroundings

The whole summit and slopes are covered by spruce forest with an admixture of deciduous trees. Radlica lies on the western border of the Rudawy Landscape Park. In Łomnica itself, at the foot of the hill, stands the Palace in Łomnica, and a few kilometres further, in Karpniki, one can see Karpniki Castle.

Approach to the summit

No marked tourist trail leads to the top of Radlica. Only two paths cross the slopes, so reaching it requires one's own orientation in the terrain, without markings or infrastructure.
