A neo-baroque palace from 1910 in Roztocznik, a former agricultural school, today a private property with no visiting.
Roztocznik Palace stands in a village in the Dzierżoniów municipality, on the site of a former manor estate. It owes its present neo-baroque form to a rebuilding in 1910, and since the closure of the agricultural school in the mid-2000s it has been privately owned, with no organised visiting.
The present palace was built in the 19th century on the site of a Renaissance manor house from the 16th century, probably on the initiative of the von Seherr-Thoss family. In 1910, commissioned by the estate's then owners, the von Seidlitz-Sandreczki family, the building was extended with an avant-corps and a north wing, giving it its present neo-baroque form: a body on an L-shaped plan, a mansard roof with dormers, an oval driveway in front of the entrance and a balcony with a stone balustrade above the main entrance. Until 1930 the palace was home to Barbara von Heyden-Cadow and Adolf von Seidlitz-Sandreczki, whose coats of arms appear on the facade.
After 1945 an agricultural school was set up in the palace, which in the 1980s operated as the Maciej Rataj Agricultural Mechanisation School Complex. The institution functioned here until the 2004/2005 school year. In 1993 a fire broke out in the building, after which the palace was rebuilt.
After the school closed, the palace and park complex was bought by a private investor. In 2012 the property was acquired by the Wrocław company Kłos Investment, which planned to set up a care home for the elderly there. The sources do not indicate what stage these plans have reached, nor whether the site is open to visitors today.
