A Baroque palace of the Schaffgotsch family in the Sobieszów district of Jelenia Góra, today an educational centre of the Karkonosze National Park.
Sobieszów Palace is a historic palace in Jelenia Góra, located on the edge of an escarpment along the road to Piechowice, in the central part of the Sobieszów district, between Karkonoska and Cieplicka streets.
Construction began in 1705 on the initiative of Johann Anton von Schaffgotsch, was directed by master builder Eliasz Scholze of Bolesławiec, and was completed in 1712. The palace was initially the main seat of the Schaffgotsch family, and after their move to the palace in Cieplice it became a summer residence. At the end of the 18th century it was handed over to the estate administrator and the land court.
The building has three storeys, with an eleven-axis front facade, three-axis avant-corps and a hip roof. Baroque elements have survived on the facade, among them an ornamental frieze and a mascaron. The interiors were rebuilt after 1945.
Until 2012 the building housed the Complex of Agricultural and Agritourism Schools. On 14 August 2013 it was handed over to the Karkonosze National Park with a view to creating an educational centre, and in 2023 the building was opened after conservation work. The palace is entered in the register of immovable historic monuments.
