The second-highest peak of the Góry Sokole, with rock formations and a steel viewing platform reached by iron steps.
Sokolik is the second-highest peak in the Góry Sokole, in the Jelenia Góra Valley, lying in the village of Bobrów. It rises to a height of 643.6 metres, though the literature also gives values of 622 and 642 metres for the two rock pillars that form the summit.
Sokolik and its slopes are covered by a large cluster of rock formations and individual rock blocks with their own names, including Krzywa Turnia, Sukiennice, Chatka, Stodoła, Jastrzębiec, Okienna, Ząbek and Michały. The best known are Sokolik Wielki and Sokolik Mały, two rock pillars in the north-eastern part of the summit. The whole massif is built of Karkonosze granite.
The higher of the two pillars, Sokolik Wielki (642 m a.s.l.), is topped by a steel viewing platform, reached by iron steps. The literature gives two versions of when they were built: 1885 at the initiative of the Riesengebirgsverein, or 1884, attributed to Carl Emil Becker, the owner of the Maciejowa estate. From the platform you can see the Karkonosze, the Bóbr valley, the northern part of the Rudawy Janowickie and the Kaczawskie Mountains.
Sokolik lies within the Rudawy Landscape Park and is often used as a training ground for climbing. It is separated from its twin, the neighbouring Krzyżna Góra, by a small saddle.
Nearby it is also worth seeing Bolczów Castle and the Dębowy Palace in Karpniki. The whole area forms part of the Rudawski Landscape Park.
