About Sośnina

A two-peaked elevation (459 and 455 m above sea level) in the Rogówka Hills, on the eastern edge of the Kłodzko Valley by the village of Żelazno.

Sośnina is an elevation in the Rogówka Hills, in the Central Sudetes, on the eastern edge of the Kłodzko Valley, about a kilometre north-east of the village of Żelazno in Kłodzko County.

Two summits

Sośnina has two peaks - a higher one at 459 metres above sea level and a lower one at 455 metres, about 0.6 kilometres apart. It is separated from the neighbouring elevation of Bukówka to the east by a small saddle.

Geology and vegetation

The foundation of the elevation is formed by granitoids of the Kłodzko-Złoty Stok massif, mainly amphibole granodiorites, covered by Pleistocene periglacial deposits. The summit and all the slopes are covered by spruce forest.

Nearby

Towards Kłodzko you can visit the Kłodzko Fortress and walk the Underground Tourist Route, and closer to Sośnina, in Gorzanów, stands Gorzanów Castle. A little to the south rises another elevation of this range, Wapniarka.
