A triangular square in Nadodrze in Wrocław, by Wrocław Nadodrze station, with Stanisław Staszic Park at its centre.
Stanisława Staszica Square lies in Nadodrze, on the site of the former Oder Suburb. It has a shape close to a triangle with sides of about 450 by 300 metres, and its present outline took shape in 1880. The centre of the composition is occupied by Stanisław Staszic Park, which is a separate, smaller area of greenery within the square, not the same place as the square itself.
The square was created in the first half of the 19th century as a widening of the road towards Osobowice. In the 1860s it was extended, from which the neighbouring Strzelecki Square developed. The square received its final, triangular outline in 1880. On the eastern and northern side the boundary is marked by a railway line, on the west by roads leading towards Osobowice, and on the south-west by ulica Trzebnicka.
By the square stands the Wrocław Nadodrze railway station, built in 1868, and the Church of St Boniface from 1897-1898. In 1898 a narrow-gauge railway station was also added. The park in the central part of the square was laid out in 1905-1906 on the site of a former horse market, and its last renovation took place in 2012.
