A 19th-century palace in Strzelce near Marcinowice, rebuilt in the 20th century, today home to a primary school, with a protected palace park.
Strzelce Palace, in the village of Strzelce in the Marcinowice municipality, in Świdnica County, dates from the 19th century and was altered again in the 20th century. Today it houses a primary school, and the building is in good condition.
The palace was built in the 19th century, and in the second half of the 20th century it underwent a rebuilding. This was made easier by the fact that the palace building itself is not listed in the heritage register - unlike the surrounding palace park from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, which does hold such a listing. The transformed palace stands in the western part of the village, by the road and a former manor farm.
The building today houses the Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński Primary School. It is in good condition, although its appearance now differs from its original 19th-century form.
Unlike the palace itself, the surrounding park from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries is listed in the heritage register. It is the park, not the building, that is formally the protected part of the complex.
Strzelce lies close to Ślęża and the Ślęża Landscape Park, and within a few kilometres stand further Lower Silesian residences - the Palace in Gruszów and Krasków Palace.
