A square in Nadodrze with Skwer Sybiraków, named after the former Schiesswerder shooting range.
Strzelecki Square lies in Wrocław in the Nadodrze neighbourhood, formerly known as the Oder Suburb, within the Śródmieście district. It has a shape close to a rectangle measuring about 250 by 100 metres, with an additional triangular section near Ptasia and Kurkowa streets.
The current name of the square, like the earlier German name Schießwerder Platz, comes from the former Schiesswerder shooting range, which once operated on Kępa Strzelecka. Before that the square was called Roßplatz, and after the war it briefly functioned as plac Karola Marksa, before receiving its current name.
The central feature of the square is Skwer Sybiraków, with paths, benches and a children's playground. There also stands a monument to the victims of deportations to Siberia, in the form of a twelve-metre cross piercing a wall.
