A stone observation tower from 1906 on the summit of Bazaltowa Góra, entered in the heritage register, today with its view blocked by tall trees.
The Tower on Bazaltowa Góra is a stone observation tower standing on the summit of Bazaltowa Góra, at an altitude of 368 metres above sea level, in the Kaczawa Foothills.
The tower was built in 1906 from broken basalt stone, on a circular plan, probably on the initiative of the Riesengebirgsverein, a German tourist society then active in the Sudetes. The construction date was carved onto one of the steps, though today it is barely visible. The entrance leads through a neo-Gothic portal of clinker brick, the outer steps are made of dressed basalt, and the inner ones of granite.
Originally the tower was taller and had one more floor on its viewing platform. It was removed during a renovation in 1994, after which the structure has three storeys.
The tower was entered in the heritage register under number 980/L, by a decision of 18 February 1993. Today, however, the views from the platform are limited, as the trees around the tower have grown tall enough to block the panorama in almost every direction.
